Pastor Tim & Mangiboi
History of Pastor Tim.
Pastor Tim is a 35-year-old minister who grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio in the suburb of Brunswick, a farming community turned housing community.
A fellow millennial, Pastor Tim loved The Lion King, TY Beanie Babies, Pogs and Slammers, Nintendo 64, reading fiction, exploring the woods behind the house, playing with pets, riding bikes, watching late 90’s early 00’s NASCAR, and anxiously cheering on Cleveland Sports Teams.
Growing up the youngest of 10 siblings and in a family that experienced divorce, Pastor Tim was truly raised by a village. His neighbor, Aunt Ruthie was a grandmotherly figure who guided him in using his gifts for presentation and problem-solving to excel at school and take on leadership roles in church youth group.
It was during high school that Pastor Tim felt the call to ordained ministry, but it wouldn’t be until 12 years later, a college degree, a seminary degree, an internship, and a chaplain residency that his vision would realize in his ordination at his home church in Brunswick, Ohio on September 22, 2018.
Pastor Tim served at Fairfax Lutheran Parish (FLP) in Fairfax, South Carolina before coming to Mt. Moriah. FLP is a small rural dual-site congregation in the Low Country of South Carolina. A quiet area that God called him to preach the Good News, administer the sacraments, and serve the ill and homebound.
In 2020 the Holy Spirit guided Pastor Tim to the North Carolina Synod, where he now ministers as the Pastor of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. Twenty-four days a year he also serves the nation as a Chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserve at Eglin Air Force Base outside of Destin, Florida.
Pastor Tim is passionate about storytelling, video editing, and working with the youth and young at heart. He believes God is actively speaking, listening, and moving in our midst and wants to join God in making our world a little bit better.
For fun, Pastor Tim likes to do CrossFit, play with his pup, go to the movies, hike, sing, and laugh hysterically on the phone with his friends.
